HeadlinesGrass on Steroids Leads to SUICIDE ALERT
Thanks to our great weather ( relatively speaking!) and beautiful, thick, long and wet rough it's been reported that some of our members are getting close to the breaking point. Hang in there guys, only a couple of more weeks and Jamie should have those mowers working again!May 31st ResultsThe results have been posted to the website. The weather wasn't the greatest but we still had 52 players registered for this event with all groups maintaining a good Pace Of Play. We have yet to hear from the winning ticket holder for the 50/50 draw. Ticket #039114 is worth $115.00 and going down as we speaking! (Waitress, bring another round please!) So if you are the owner of this ticket it may be in your best interest to let us know ASAP, PDQ and RFN so we can deliver what's left, hopefully at the next Men's Club event.
Congratulations to all participants and especially those of you who have envelopes waiting for you at the registration table on June 14th. Don't forget to check your pari-mutuel tickets, I believe there were 7 winning tickets.A quick not on the deuce pot. If you pay your money don't forget to write your name on the Deuce Pot Sign up sheet. Also, if you know you ARE NOT signed up for the deuce pot, please don't circle the deuce on the score card.
June 14 Event
The format is Individual stroke play - Stableford scoring. Bring your best game as that rough will be challenging.********* Rules Alert **********
The Men's Club executive has evoked a special rule for this event only.If you ball goes into the rough, and your playing partners all agree that it went into the rough and CANNOT BE FOUND, after the correct amount of time has passed looking for it. Drop another ball from an agreed upon point in the rough, and play on from that point WITHOUT PENALTY STOKE.
We want to limit the adverse affects of the sever playing conditions on our playing time. Now if you lose one of your playing partner in the rough there is no additional searching time allowed, just leave him and I'm sure someone will stumble upon him at some point during the event and if not the mowers fill find him next week.
Match Play
June 15 is the deadline for both team and individual matches for the A Events. We have a number of matches that have yet to be played. There will be no extensions, so don't let your fate be determined by a coin flip on June 16! As of June 13th the following matches remain to be played.

The B Match Play Ladders have been posted for some time now so please check them to see where you stand and get the match in on time.Rules of Golf. Our first submission comes from our resident Ol' Pro, Shivas McQuiver.
He writes to us mentioning that as the course conditions "toughen up" for our upcoming Tour event, those areas through-the-green that aren't so "closely mown" can prove to be challenging to hit out of, and at times, even to simply locate one's golf ball!
Be sure to watch the final landing area of your shot carefully. Even a ball finishing just off the fairway, if not found within 5 minutes of search time, must be treated in the same manner as a ball hit out of bounds. You'll have to trudge back to the tee (or original play area) and replay another ball adding stroke AND distance...
It could be quicker and more convenient for us to just drop another ball in the general area of the "Bermuda Triangle" of our recently vanished golf ball, add a stroke (or not!!) and play on .. Unfortunately that would not only be wrong, it would be an infraction of the Rules of the Game that we all love and should strive to adhere to...
Remember, the Rules may not always decide in our favour, but we make Golf a better game for ourselves by knowing and following them.On another note, make sure that the clubs you carry in your bag over the 14 club limit are clubs that you can actually hit...!!See you on the tee June 14 and try to arrive 30 minutes before your tee time to check in, buy your 50/50 tickets and collect your winnings if you have any.HMC Executive
