This event is a 4 Man Best Ball format so PLEASE if you have signed up and cannot make it, let us know via the event cancellation link here (by the way the cancellation form on the website has now been upgrade so you can cancel multiple events at the same time if need be) or on the website, email us at hmc@hazelmeremenslcub.org.  It is critical that everyone who has signed up for a team event shows up.  This is also a pari-mutuel event!

Match Play

All of the first flight matches have now been completed and we are into the 2nd flight matches with a few already played.  The deadline for the 2nd flight is July 20th for both A & B ladders.  That's only 19 days away and because of the format for the next event we WILL NOT BE ABLE to accommodate any matches!

You may have noticed that when you use the Match Play reporting form on the website there is room for comments.  Here are the comments after the 1st flight that we would like to share with everyone;

Note Worthy Comments - Grant Cameron vs. Gary Jones

Gary cleaned my clock!!

Note Worthy Comments - Terry Johnston vs. Arnie Thompson

I played like crap on the first 5 holes and was down 4 after 5 holes and never did catch up.

Note Worthy Comments - Greg Cosens vs. Larrie York

Larrie played great! It was a fun match!

Note Worthy Comments - Weatherhead / Schmidt vs. Cameron / Nicola

Cameron shot his career best round 85, Weatherhead and Schmidt both had chip-in birds, however the strokes given were just enough to seal the deal for the Nicola/Cameron team ... what a match!!

Note Worthy Comments - Kris / Chris vs. Matthews / York

20 bucks this group goes to the finals, with their present caps.

Note Worthy Comments - Pope / Iceman vs. Wilson / Sheane

Aqua Man (the Undertaker) started the embalming fluid very early in this match, and almost singlehandedly dispatched our opponents who fought bravely to the end, but he was after all The Pope!

Note Worthy Comments - Burns / MacAllen vs. Edwardson / Embleton

After the loss, the Edwardson Team was so depressed they went looking for a good Psychologist but couldn't find one!!

Note Worthy Comments - Cameron/ Nicola vs. Morrison / Peterson

Cameron/Nicola Dormie after 16, won 17, tied 18 (spectacular chip on 18 by Marty to win!) Good match, but wrong team won .. natch!

And Finally (like we didn't know!)

Note Worthy Comments - Flood / Cherniak vs. Lee / Bajkov

Fred was awesome

So, you can see that somebody does make note of Note Worth Comments.  I hope no one was upset that I shared their comments with the rest of the membership.

Rules of Golf

With more and more of the members going south in the wet season there is 1 and only 1 rule we would like to share with you today.

Take a Drop instead!

There is a reason why you shouldn't go into the desert in Arizona looking for your lost golf ball!

Handicaps.

Our handicap committee have asked that we remind all our member to make an effort to obtain handicap cards, either from the Pro Shop or the RCGA website. They have also asked that you update these on a regular basis. Although you don't need them for our club events they are a must if you are playing in tournaments of any type at other clubs.

Fun Stuff

We asked for input from our members for this section, still waiting for our first story.

And ... as always, if you want to share anything with your fellow members or just want to give us your opinion on something don't be shy! Just drop us an email, we are all ears!!

Thank you for your continued support of the Hazelmere Men's Club!!

We'll see you bright and early on Saturday July 12th
