August 16th Event

The results for this past Saturday Men's Club, "You Da Man", have now been posted to the website.  Here is the link:

With the exception of a few players not showing up causing some juggling and a couple of teams having to play as 3somes, it was a great day for Golf.  Congratulations to the teams who placed in the money at 1st, 2nd & 3rd!  As for the rest of the teams GREAT EFFORT under tough conditions!! 

We didn't want to lose any players to the heat so the executive arranged to have some COLD water available for everyone on the 12th tee box.  Hope everyone managed to get some!

Personally speaking, I like the "You Da Man" format and from the comments and feed back that a few members of the executive have received it would appear that other members share my feelings.  The Executive is always eager to hear ANY comments or feed back on the various events that are run throughout the year. If you would like to share those comments with the executive please do so by sending us an email or tell one of us what you think.  Your feedback is always welcome!

You may be asking why the commentary about this particular event, the reason is that our Men's Club Season is starting to wind down and the Executive has starting discussing possible NEW events for next year.  If you have any suggestions or ideas you wish to share we  would be please to hear them. August 23rd Summer Shoot Out #3

The next Men's Club event is this coming Saturday, August 23rd.  It is the 3rd and final round of the Summer Shoot Out and Registration will be cut off on Monday evening so if you haven't signed up and want to play here is the link to the event sign up on the website: http://hazelmeremensclub.org/2008/Events/2008EventSignUpSheet.htm

Remember that to win the OVER ALL event you must have had the same partner.  If you didn't you can still win the individual event prize money.

Match Play Ladders

The completion date for ALL Matches was today, August 17th. 

As of the writing of this News Letter results for the following matches have not been reported:

Individual match Play - A Event        Dave Zabel vs Jack Boyce

Individual Match Play - B Event        Jack Zimmer vs Kris Bollmann

Our match play Captain is looking into these matches and will resolve their outcomes within the next few days and the website will be updated so those of you waiting can find out who your playing.

In the mean time the last leg of the match play ladder has started and the completion date for these are clearly posted on the website.  If you are involved with ANY of these matches please check to see who you are playing and arrange your match well before the deadline.

Ryder Cup

The registration forms have been available on the website for the past couple of weeks.  Registration will be cut off this coming Wednesday at midnight to accommodate the ordering of the Golf Shirts.  If you know of someone who is away and you think they want to play, try to get a hold of them and have them sign up. As long as you have internet access you can sign up from almost anywhere.

Back this year as Team Captains are Mike White, Reid McIntyre, and we are pleased to confirm that Phil Jonas and Graham Odgen are going to be the assistant Captain!  The rivalry has started to build amongst playing Captains and Vice Captains!!

If you ARE NOT planning on playing in the Ryder Cup but wish to order the Men's Club Golf Shirts, you may do so by going to the online Ryder Cup registration form on the Men's Club Website.  The shirts will be approximately $35 - $40 and are a GREAT VALUE!! The shirts below are VERY close to the actual shirts.  (Stripe is a bit different but colours are very close)  The Men's Club logo will be on one sleeve and the Adidas logo will be on the other sleeve.
