Week of July 3rd Men's Club Newsletter

Greetings,

The July 8th event marks the half way point of the Men's Club season, with only 1 event being rained out.  After the next event I will try to post the money list for the first half of the schedule.

You may have noticed the playing times were posted on the last event results.  The purpose of this is to bring awareness to the membership of just what the playing times are for our events.  It is every players responsibility, whether you are playing in a Men's club event or just out playing with your buddies, to respect and promote pace of play.  No one enjoys a 4.5+ hr round of golf!  Thank you to all of the teams who reported their finishing times.

June 24th Event

Remember that this was the 1st event of the Summer Shoot out.  In order to win the over all event you must have the same partner for all 3 events.  I will be posting a over all results for the summer shoot out after the Summer Shoot Out #2 event.  Look for it on the results page on the website.

July 8th Event

The cut off of this event is well past and the tee times and teams should be posted either Monday or Tuesday evening. Just check the website.  This event is a 4 man best ball event with a PM being run.  Please remember if you can't make it to let us know ASAP via email.  If you didn't sign up and would like to play please drop us an email and we can place you on a waiting list.  This event is a dog and drink event.  Looking forward to seeing everyone on the tee box Saturday morning.

Match Play Events

This being a long weekend I know may of you are playing your matches.  Please remember to send the results of your matches to hmc@hazelmeremensclub.org  so I can update the website.  Its not enough to write the results on the sheets in the locker room as I only see these sheets once a week.

And Now for something totally New (to the Men's Club anyway)

Mark your calendars for September 9th & 10th.  The Ryder Cup is coming to Hazelmere and you can be a part of it.

The Men's Club executive is currently organizing a Ryder Cup event for Sept 9 & 10.  This event is being played on a off weekend from the regular schedule.  The details are currently being worked on but here is what we can tell you so far.

bulletAll details will be sent to the membership by approximately July 15th.
bulletThis event will be limited to 24 players only and will be handicap based.
bulletEvent registration will be via online registration only for a very limited time. If you are Internet challenged you can have a buddy register you online.
bulletEveryone will be notified when registration will be via email and posted on the Men's Club bulletin board in the locker room.
bulletThere will be a entry fee for this event.

British Open Lottery

The highlight and Crown Jewel of the golfing season, the British Open is being held July 20th - 23.  Once again the Men's Club will be sponsoring a lottery as we have done in the past.  We are shooting for 25 participants so if you have any friend or buddies who would like to get in on the action either send me their email address or give them our Men's Club website.

The entry fee is $25.000 and the entry deadline will be midnight, July 19th

That's it for another week on the HMC tour.

See you on the 1st tee & Good Luck!
