I've got to make this quick as I'm on my way to the airport to catch a plane to phoenix!!  FIVE  no make that SIX wholes days of golfing in perfect conditions .... I hope!

The draws for the match play has been completed by the Club Captain, Brent Weatherhead.  Here they are.  If you have any questions please contact directly via email.  This will also be posted onto the Men's Club website sometime in the coming week, (when I'm not golfing)

April 15th Event

 

The results have been posted to the website for the April 15th event.  The winning 50/50 ticket is also there.  The winning number is 079176  for a total of $52.50  If you have the winning number please let someone in the Men's Club executive know.

 

A message from the Handicap & Pace of Play Committee

 

The rain stopped just after 8 and every one played. The final group teed off at 9:20 instead of 9:15 so we were almost on time.

 

The first three groups:

 

Dent, Zabel, Flood and Morrison

 

Edwardson, Weatherhead, Sudermann and Smith

 

Adam, Embleton, Rife and Ryan V

 

Played in four hours or less.

 

It deteriorated badly after that!!!!

 

Please take a minute to read these recommendations. 

 

Our objective is to complete play in four hours. Everyone can fall behind at times, but when this happens steps must be taken to catch up to the group in front.

 

First, play ready golf (there are many that suggest this should be standard practice all the time). When playing ready golf just make sure no one else is about to shoot at the same time.

 

As you approach your ball on the course think about which club you are going to use (rather than deciding once you are over the ball). When it is your turn be ready to play.

 

On the green, do not mark your second putt, putt out (unless you have to step on someone else's line).

 

When you are behind, the first person to putt out should immediately proceed to the next tee box and hit. The second person should then do the same. The third person to putt out should pick up the flag so it can be replaced immediately after the final person has putted.

 

Never mark your score cards around the green, proceed to the next tee and do the scorekeeping as others hit.

 

I know we have all heard these at some time in our golf careers but perhaps some of us need to pay a little more attention and practice them when we do fall behind.!
