Hazelmere Men's Club |
Unofficial meeting minutes
The Annual General meeting was held at the clubhouse with approximately 30 people in attendance.
Opening Comments
Andy Sebok, President opened the
meeting.
One of the Men's Club objectives for the coming year is to increase the
the speed of play by all players to a 4 to 4:15 round. Troy
also addressed the speed of play issue and echoed our objective. Each
member of the Men's Club is being asked to strive to achieve this pace of
play. If we all do it then this time next year it shouldn't be an issue!
2004 Schedule
Jim Werlinger, Club Captain, discussed the 2004 schedule of events. There were some concerns expressed about the 'qualifying rounds' that the members had to play. The main concern being that some members would not be able to play in the scheduled event because of being away on vacation. The executive agreed to revisit this issue and get back to the membership as soon as possible.
Web Site
Richard Dolny, introduced the members to the new Hazelmere Men's Club website. Remember that this is just the beginning and this will always be a 'work in progress' project. If any member have suggestions or recommendations as to what they would like to see on the site please do not hesitate to drop an email to any of the executive members or to Richard directly via the email link on the site. One of the issues at present is what would be a good picture to use for the front page of the site. The Mike Weir Masters picture is simply there as a temporary measure. Anyone have any idea's??
*** when you visit the website you will notice a 'banner' at the bottom of your screen. Because we are redirecting our site (at no cost) we have to put up with this banner. So don't worry about the pop up ad. I will be doing away with this in the very near future. ***
Masters Lottery 2004
Richard Dolny introduced the 2004 Masters Lottery fund raising event. The event was well received and some members asked if they could get their friends into the lottery. The answer was yes, however because we don't have a lottery license etc etc we don't want to make this public knowledge. So if you are going to get your buddies in on this please insure that they get they money in before the deadline. I check with Paul about being able to charge the $25.00 entry fee to your membership account and you can. I will work out the details with Paul and advise the participants as soon as I have the information. Look for the lottery details on the website or click on the link below. If you have any questions please email me at richard@fairwaysales.ca

Royal Canadian Golf Association
Dennis Oldknow of the RCGA put on a Rules Clinic complete with a very informative video on some of the rules of golf. I think it would be safe to say that something was learned by all! Thank you Dennis. If you didn't get a chance to purchase the rules of golf book that Dennis had available you can order it from their website. I have included a link to the RCGA website. http://rcga.org/english/About/home.asp
The meeting concluded after the Rules presentation by Dennis Oldknow.
If anyone has anything to add to this un official account of the meeting please email to me and I will make the necessary amendments.
